Have you ever considered traveling to another state’s ACDA conference? My name is Brandon Moss, and I am a member of Ohio’s chapter of ACDA. As a neighbor to the great state of Michigan, I feel we should keep each other informed of the major events happening in our state chapters, and this includes our annual conferences. I write today to invite you to OCDA’s 2012 Summer Conference, held June 18-20 on the campus of Otterbein University, just minutes north of Columbus, Ohio. This year’s conference features guest clinicians Charles Bruffy, Grammy award-winning conductor of the Kansas City and Phoenix Chorales; Paul Oakley, Director of Choral and Sacred Music Studies at Kentucky Wesleyan College; Rebecca Reames, Professor of Music Education at SUNY Potsdam; and Frank Bianchi, Director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus. Rollo Dilworth will direct the Children’s Honor Choir. The conference is also packed with reading sessions, performances by some of Ohio’s fine choirs, diverse exhibit offerings, and many opportunities for networking with and learning from colleagues across the state and region. Graduate credit is available through Otterbein University.
More detailed information on our conference can be found at the OCDA website (http://www.ohiocda.org/conferences/conferences/summerconference.html). There you can also register online and request information for the graduate credit option. If you have any questions at all about this conference, please feel free to contact me at
